The Selection [The Selection #1]

“No, I’m not choosing him or you. I’m choosing me.”
- The Selection

"For thirty-five girls, the Selection is the chance of a lifetime. The opportunity to escape the life laid out for them since birth. To be swept up in a world of glittering gowns and priceless jewels. To live in a palace and compete for the heart of gorgeous Prince Maxon.

But for America Singer, being Selected is a nightmare. It means turning her back on her secret love with Aspen, who is a caste below her. Leaving her home to enter a fierce competition for a crown she doesn't want. Living in a palace that is constantly threatened by violent rebel attacks.

Then America meets Prince Maxon. Gradually, she starts to question all the plans she's made for herself—and realizes that the life she's always dreamed of may not compare to a future she never imagined"

Let's talk about this. Review's were screaming it's amazing or terrible. People loved it or didn't even finish the book. I  just had to read this for myself.

It's basically The Bachelor.

Thousands and thousands of girls enter (almost like) reality TV show called The Selection. America didn't even want to enter! That's was (kind-of) shocking me. But... with peer-pressure, deals and romance... the story line changed and basically is The Bachelor.

But...I did like...

The character's names! I've never heard of the name America or Aspen. The writing was pretty smooth and it has a simple story line but, predictable at some parts. I have a good idea how it's going to end but I still want to finish the series. :)

In the end...

  2. I think I gave this book a 3 star as well, it was a fun, adorable and lighthearted read! I found the first book of the series the most enjoyable, because the second book made me really flame at America. But the way it ended in The One was really cute :) Hope you enjoy the rest of the series!!
